Metal price methodology
How prices are reviewed
Imports are checked for required fields, plausible positive numbers, currency, unit, date and correct product mapping. Source errors are logged and isolated. A successful run confirms the check, but does not necessarily mean the supplier published a new quote.
Update frequency and data date
Supplier sources are scheduled for review at least every three days. “Last checked” is the time of that run; “latest data date” is the newest quote actually supplied and may therefore be older.
Minimum and maximum prices
Min and max describe the source range for a specific specification. They are not binding offers and represent bid/ask prices only where explicitly defined as such by the source.
Currencies and exchange rates
Foreign-currency values are converted to EUR with the exchange rate stored for the relevant import date, preserving the currency context of historical observations.
EXW, FOB and Delivered
EXW places most transport responsibility on the buyer. FOB includes delivery on board at the port of shipment. Delivered includes transport to the named destination; duties, taxes and insurance depend on the exact term.
Purity, form and origin
Oxide, metal, powder and alloy, as well as purity, dimensions, origin and delivery term, describe different products. Processing, yield, certification, packaging and lot size can create substantial differences.
Public and protected data
Public pages show a delayed six-month average ending 30 days ago. Current min/max prices, full histories, downloads and API access remain available according to the subscription.
